Are you sure the shower is running off the combi boiler? If not, the pressure drop when someone turns on the water can trigger the low flow sensor in the shower and it cuts power. Posted 8 years ago

Don’t know bout saving money but you will get a far more powerfull shower from mains hot water (boiler fed) rather than a electric shower. That for me would be the main point to concider.
So your upstairs bathroom taps will normally sit around 2 metres below your tank, resulting in a water pressure of 0.2 Bar, and your kitchen taps will be around 5 metres below your tank, supplying you with around 0.5 Bar of pressure. There are other water systems, other than gravity and combination boiler.

A combi installation is equal pressure as both hot & cold are equally balanced, eg if the pressure drops at the shower because of an opened cold kitchen tap, the pressure will drop on the cold to the shower and to boiler resulting in balanced pressure.

Oct 21, 2013 · If the system is set to 22 psi whin cold, there's a good chance it'll blow-over the 30psi point, opening up the pressure relieve valve on the boiler, spitting/dumping scalding water in the process, then when the system cools it'll be at a lower pressure- the only system leak being the pressure relief valve doing what it was designed to do.

Mixer shower and combi boiler problems. It could be a lack of flow at the head – try it again with the head off. Possible a shower mixing problem – water pressures should be pretty much the same for H+C on a combi, so doubtful to be that. If you have the same h+C cycling on the bath tap, then suspect a fault with the boiler.

Mar 28, 2008 · Upping the pressure on your boiler will have no bearing at all with the pressure on your shower. The problem with your shower sounds to me as if the hot and cold pipes have been conneced the wrong way round, hot to cold and cold to hot. Check this first.
